LE: How is a day in the life of Roger Hegglin?
Roger: I like to start early in the morning and get my day going. My days are well-planned and busy, although I like to leave flexible times for unplanned events.
Every day is exciting for me, I enjoy the people I work with and gain a lot of satisfaction from seeing how the company progresses.
LE: You have an incredible professional path, which includes being in charge of global positions. What would be your advice for young professionals who want to pursue a long-lasting career like yours?
Roger: My advice to young professionals is to never stop learning. Knowledge is a powerful tool. I would also say that it’s important to appreciate the people around you.
I have met such amazing people in my professional journey and can’t thank them enough. We’re all here to work together, so be friendly and make yourself understood.
LE: How is Roger Hegglin out of office?
Roger: Friends and family are my passion. I love being around my grandchildren and setting a good example for them. I also run a charity foundation known as “licht fur vergessene Kinder” which helps orphans in India and Uganda.
I try to ski as much as possible because it’s one of my favourite things to do. I also love to cook and party with loved ones. Life is short, so enjoy it!
LE: In your experience leading global teams, what would be the most important thing that a good leader should have?
Roger: From my experience, it’s essential to be an open leader. What I mean by this is that you should be open to other cultures and other ways of thinking.
Try not to push your ideas too hard onto others. Communication is key so make yourself understood and seek to understand others. Don’t underestimate the personal aspect of the professional world. Meeting people in person is always better.
LE: How is your experience so far as part of the Leverage Experts team?
Roger: It’s been great so far, but still relatively new. Overall, very exciting to be part of the LE team. I’m really looking forward to our time together!
